Holmes makes laps at IRP in the Best Value Carriers No.32 Truck.

Qualification Stats:

Time & Conditions: 3:05 PM CT | 76°F | Mostly Sunny | 3MPH Winds

Knowing the track would change significantly through the day due to temperature, Holmes and the crew elected to set the truck up best for a night race rather than qualifying. Crew Chief Mike Shiplett communicated that the heat on the track's pavement would cause the truck to be loose but during the cooler night race, the truck's handling would get tighter. Holmes flew around the track in 23.670 seconds, qualifying in the 30th position.

Stage 1

From the start, the trucks found themselves racing in a straight line, making it nearly impossible to pass on the short track. As most of the field fell backward, Holmes managed to climb and grab three spots by the end of the stage.

Stage 2

Similar to the first stage, the only real progression was happening within the top 10. Many of the drivers found themselves stagnant or moving backward, however, Holmes managed to grab two more spots to finish the stage in P25.

Final Stage

Out of all drivers that moved forward +1 space, 8 out of 11 of those drivers started in the top 10. Only half of the field finished in a better position than they started, and Holmes was one of the eleven to gain multiple spots through the race and finished in P26.
