Qualification Stats:

Time & Conditions: 5:35 PM CT | 79°F | Mostly Cloudy | 14MPH Winds

After making two laps in practice, Bret felt something in the truck wasn't right. The team was forced to pull the truck behind the wall, sacrificing the remainder of the practice session. The crew was able to diagnose an issue with the drivetrain and used the qualifying session to work on the truck and get it ready to start the race. Due to missing the qualifying session, Holmes would start at the back in P32.

Race Stats:

Time & Conditions: 12:30 PM CT | 72°F | Light Rain | 8MPH Winds

Starting Position & Results: P32 | P24 | P24 | P21

After yet another rain delay, the track was dried and the trucks were able to race. Not having many chances to make laps on the track yet, the team understood that they'd need time to study the truck, and pit strategy would be important throughout the race.

Stage 1

  • Just eleven laps into stage one, Luke Fenhaus spins from P25 to bring out the first caution of the race. Having the chance to pit early, the team brought the No. 32 truck in and began to make adjustments. After going green for the next 24 laps, Holmes would finish the stage in P24.

Stage 2

  • Taking just two tires at the beginning of the stage, the crew was able to get the truck back on the track right outside the top 10. Over the next few laps, Bret was able to drive the Skuttle Tight No. 32 truck up to P7 before the pit cycle flipped.

Final Stage

  • Over the last stretch of laps, pit strategy became more important than ever. Holmes was called into the pits to replace his tires, and the team was able to consistently get him back on track in a better position than he started.

  • Just moments after Holmes made (what should have been) his last pit stop for the night, Vicente Salas spins out, and the yellow flag flies.

  • Holmes is caught a lap down due to the caution, along with Enfinger, Dye, and Caruth, and would finish P21.
